Mount Sinai maintains partnerships with community-based health organizations whose mission is to increase access to quality of care for medically underserved populations. The goals of Mount Sinai’s affiliations, alliances and partnerships are to:
Facilitate referral of primary care patients to specialty, diagnostic and in-patient hospital care.
Increase the availability of scarce medical resources through the stationing of physicians, nurse-midwives, nurse practitioners and other health resources at community primary care sites.
Offer cost-effective services, such as lab and pathology, to community health centers.
